New Zealand Firefighters Credit Union was formed in 1976 and officially became the credit union for firefighters and emergency services personnel in 1981.

With over 1800 members we have grown to be a strong group with a wide range of financial, banking and insurance services and products.

New Zealand Firefighters Credit Union was formed with the goal to make a difference to the men and women who serve our nation and risk their live to protect us. With some of the most flexible and affordable loans and credit services in the country we believe that we are doing just that one step at a time.

What New Zealand Firefighters Credit Union can offer you

We offer a range of both secured and unsecured personal loans to our members at highly competitive rates that cannot be obtained from traditional banks.

We also offer savings accounts, online and mobile banking, financial advice and insurance to our valued members.

Our Loans - here when you need them

We offer standard loans which are available to members who have 10% savings available in their loan provider accounts and can offer you up to $5,000. We also offer fast loans of $5,000 and above which are ideal for those who are able to  provide security.

Becoming a Member of the New Zealand Firefighters Credit Union

From employees of the National Office and any operational support and fire brigades and forces to members of the ambulance service - you're welcome to apply to become a member of the New Zealand Firefighters Credit Union and we welcome you to apply online by downloading our membership application form.

Our membership online loan application form is available for download on our website under the "about" and "who can join" tabs. Once you download the PDF you can then print it and complete it in your own time. You must provide us with your payroll number and all of your personal, contact and employment details. We will then process your application and get back to you.
